Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer II to support the planning, design, and delivery of BRT and LRT projects nationally. The successful candidate will bring a collaborative mindset to support AECOM’s growing Transit-Rail practice. In this role you will support the Dallas, TX Office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support efforts for BRT projects, including roadway design, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, station design, civil/site grading, and transit signal priority systems.
- Support multidisciplinary teams through all project phases—from conceptual design through construction.
- Ensure compliance with FTA guidelines, local agency standards, and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with transit agencies, municipalities, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Mentor entry engineers and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Qualifications
NIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Experience with transit infrastructure design, including LRT, BRT, and commuter rail.
- Familiarity with transit agencies and regional transportation priorities.
- Experience in engineering project delivery, including design and construction phases.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting, and regulatory processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
