The Opportunity
Adobe’s Enterprise Architecture & Emerging Technology team is part of Digital Employee Experience (DEX). We explore what’s next for how people work and turns the most promising ideas into something real. Our incubator looks at AI, data, and new ways of working to figure out what Adobe should build, test, and bet on next!
As an Emerging Technology & Innovation Intern, you will bring the perspective of someone entering the workforce just as it is being reinvented. You will own a prioritized emerging-tech challenge end-to-end: frame the problem, research it, generate ideas, prototype the strongest one, and present your findings to senior leaders. We will agree on the specific challenge together at the start of your internship so that it reflects the most relevant questions at that time and your own strengths and interests.
This is a role for an ideas person who is curious about where technology is headed, thinks in terms of people and problems rather than tools, and is eager to make ideas tangible. You will work alongside a team spanning architecture, AI, and incubation. You'll receivewit mentorship and visibility you rarely get this early in a career!
All 2027 Adobe interns will be co-located hybrid. This means that interns will work between their assigned office and home. Interns will be based in the office where their manager and/or team are located, where they will get the most support to ensure collaboration and the best employee experience. Managers and their organization will determine the frequency they need to go into the office to meet priorities.
What You'll Do
- Research emerging technologies and trends in AI, data, and the future of work, and assess which matter most for Adobe
- Use design thinking to frame problems, interview employees and partners, and uncover unmet needs
- Generate and evaluate ideas, and make a clear case for the ones worth pursuing
- Build quick, lightweight prototypes using AI tools, low-code approaches, or mock-ups to test ideas and make them tangible
- Bring a fresh perspective on how the next generation of workers will expect to work, and challenge our assumptions
- Share progress along the way and present findings and recommendations to leadership at the end of the internship
- Leave behind something reusable: a prototype, framework, playbook, or set of design principles
What You Need to Succeed
- Currently enrolled full-time and pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, design, human-computer interaction, data science, business, or a related field; or equivalent degree required with an expected graduation date of December 2027– June 2028
- Strong working knowledge of AI: you use it regularly, understand what it can and can’t do, and have a point of view on where it is headed
- Familiarity with design thinking or human-centered design, including research, ideation, and prototyping
- Genuine curiosity and an ideas-first mentality, with the ability to spot patterns and imagine what could be
- Comfort with ambiguity: you can take an open-ended problem, define it, and move it forward
- Innovative problem-solving skills driven by data analysis
- You should have hands-on ability to prototype and test ideas using intelligent automation platforms or visual development environments. Mock-ups are also acceptable. Having a project or experiment with AI to show us is a plus.
- Ability to explain complex ideas clearly to non-technical audiences, in writing and in person
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work with people at all levels
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
